Our Mission

The MO Voters Project works to register, empower, engage, and educate Missouri voters so that the will of the people is better represented in our elected officials. Through coalition building and connecting Missourians with organizations already on the ground doing work in this space, we hope to broaden the visibility and connect the advocacy of voting rights experts with everyday citizens so that together we can affect real change. We believe that when communities and causes come together under the broad umbrella of progress, we can achieve a more equitable, representative, and just democracy.

Volunteer

We are working hard to launch MO Voters Project-sponsored volunteer opportunities, to register new voters, and to re-engage existing ones. Would you like to get involved with one of these initiatives, have an idea of your own, or experience in community organizing and voter registration that you’d be willing to share?

Please email us at info@movotersproject.org.

ALLIES

The MO Voters Project is dedicated to registering new voters, engaging existing ones, educating citizens on political issues that impact our daily lives, and sharing resources and information on other groups doing critical work throughout the state. Here are a few organizations, not affiliated with us, but who we think are doing great things. Please check back in on this space soon, as we are working hard to update it!

Know of any other organizations doing this critical work? Please email us at info@movotersproject.org.

Clean

missouri

In the November 2020 election, a new amendment was passed that eradicated voter protection against unfair map redistricting and gerrymandering across the state.

Clean Missouri is leading the way in fighting against this, and other efforts to suppress our vote.

Right to vote

initiative

In Missouri, and many states across the country, citizens with a felony conviction are ineligible to vote either temporarily or, in many cases, indefinitely. But through ballot initiatives and community-based action, that is starting to change. Organizations like the Right to Vote Initiative are leading the way in restoring the vote to these disenfranchised citizens.

The newly launched organization, Take back missouri, is dedicated to supporting organizations and candidates committed to ending corruption in Missouri government, defending the statewide right to vote, and engaging citizens in the political process.

Know your rights

Knowing your rights when you head to the polls is an important part of our civic duty and a crucial way that we can fight voter suppression at the individual level. Here’s a quick guide to some of the basics:

1. If you are already in line when your polling location officially closes, you have the right to stay in line — as long as it takes — until you can cast your vote.
